2009 Volvo s40 2.4i 5cyl. Non turbo. Auto. Fwd. I bought a used ECM with matching numbers. Can the used one be programmed to my VIN# and my key.

It is a common misconception that you can use another used ECM on your vehicle as long as the numbers match.
It must be programmed to your vehicle VIN number by a mechanic. Otherwise, the vehicle immobilizer/anti theft system will not let you run the vehicle.
