what do you think about a 2010 Honda Accord sedan stick shift. Seems to run fine, ride fine and it looks good. It has 195,000km on it... aka... abt 120,000miles.  Kim

I would avoid the 2010 Honda Accord.

The Honda Accord oil burning consumption for the 8th Gen (model years 2008-2012) falls into 2 camps:  not all vehicles experienced it, and it’s not clear just how widespread the issue was.

  • 2008-2012 with 2.4L I4 engines
  • 2008-2012 with 3.5L V6 (with VCM)

But model years 2008-2010 seemed to be the worst of it.

The engine on this model year has oil burning issue.

one more question... then I'm done bugging you. ha ha.
I thought that was only on the 6 cyl? I thought the 4cyl 2.4
was a good engine?

Love the youtube videos btw.

@Kimmer6 please see my post above. Both engine options had the issue.

I'm not a Honda fan because their reliability is going back and forth. Have a mechanic look over that car to see if there is any issues.

ok thanks. I saw Scotty on youtube saying 2010 auto transmissions were not any good. This one is manual so thought it might be a good choice. The car looks to be near mint condition but i know they do a lot in the detailing dept. They are asking $7500 CAD or abt $6000 in USA funds.

Since you said you are in Canada, then I would stay away because I don't know how much rust is on there.

It is also got the 2.4 engine, not the 6 cylinder. I thought it was the 6 cyl that had all the problems?

No visible body rust... likely rust proofed. hard to see underneath though since it's so low to the ground.

They both have oil burning issues. The 2.4 is worse. I would walk away and find something else.

much appreciated. thank-you very much !
