Hi Scotty, my friends 2010 Honda Pilot is having a ticking noise on cold start only, but after 5/6 min the noise disappears and it runs perfectly fine. The car has been serviced religiously every 5000 km, driven conservatively and very well taken care of. It doesn’t burn oil at all despite hight mileage (125,000 miles). Is it something to worry about ? Thanks and have a wonderful day.
Well it could be the timing chain tensioner not working right it's a pretty expensive job to replace them but if it goes away quickly it generally can be driven quite some time that way. But unfortunately sometimes those V6 engines the cam start to work so we have a mechanic listen to it and perhaps take one of the valve covers off to see if anything's worn inside
Thanks for your feedback
