Hello Scotty,

My relative has 2010 mazda5 82k miles, she's an elderly person and low on a budget, and knows nothing about cars, so I'm trying to help her out. Car consuming lots of oil, she's been using lucas oil stop leak, it helps temporary from oil consumption. I removed the spark plugs in her car it's completely dry no oil inside cylinders just some rust, can it be pcv valve? And how do I diagnose the pcv valve with out removing it? since the manifold needs to be removed in order to check pcv valve, it doesn't make any slapping noises, or knocking noises when car is running,  so I assume the piston rings are fine. I do own an Autel scan tool, when plugged it in has no error codes. What do I need to look for when scanner plugged in on a running car to find out what the issue is?

Any advices and suggestions on troubleshooting I would really appreciate it. Thank you
