I have a 2010 corolla le it had 179,675 miles on it . I changed the fluid 3 months ago and the fluid is now from red back to black again. Now it's shifting exactly the same no problems but when should I change it again to avoid it shifting or tearing up the transmission?
I'm not an expert on Corolla's, but my ATF never gets black that quickly. In fact, it never got black at all, even after 100k. That sounds to me like there's something wrong.
Even Scotty says Japanese cars shouldn't shed much clutch material.
I'm starting to feel like they didn't even change it.
It’s not out of the question
A window from 40 to 60000 miles is good.
Don’t worry about the color. I assume you did drain and fill, correct?
how many miles have you put on it after changing the ATF?
No the toyota dealership did the fluid change. Says to change it ever 30,000 miles.
If they change it, you are good for another 60k miles. The 30k miles is overkill.
So don't worry about how black the fluid gets ? Just wait the 60,000 miles out ?
yes, that's right.
