Hi i have a 2011 ford focus se with 121000 kms on it a couple weeks ago my car was making awful noises until eventually what looks like the ac compressor clutch cam out of the serpentine belt area i asked a ford mechanic if it was okay to continue to drive he said it would be fine but now the car wont start at all and i have replaced an alternator and a battery the battery was old and toast but the car is having difficulty staying running and i have replace the alternator and battery but i was wondering if the a/c compressor could stop the car from turning over?

If the AC compressor is locking up it can actually keep the engine from starting. But the test said there you merely have to remove the fan belt off of the AC compressor so it doesn't spin and if it starts then that's the problem if it doesn't the problem lies elsewhere

will i need a shorter serpentine belt to bypass it?
