Hi Scotty, I’m in the market for a diesel pickup truck and considering a 2011 GMC 2500. It features a Duramax diesel engine and Allison transmission, has 177,000 miles on it, and has had only one previous owner. Is this a good option for $17,000?
seems overpriced for the age+miles so do some market research and comparison first.

Make sure you have it inspected by a competent diesel mechanic first before buying.
Agree with @imperator that it needs a proper inspection from an experienced diesel mechanic. I’d also want to see maintenance and repair records.
The price is probably ok if everything checks out. But any repairs on that truck are likely to be $$$.
As with any used vehicle, assume that it has a major problem, then go find it.
