Scotty, can you spare a few minutes to give advice? I have a 2011 Nissan Armada. The front, passenger door suddenly decided it will not unlock from the fob, or the mechanical switch inside. When the fob, or unlock electrical buttons are pressed to unlock, the actuator makes the sound to try unlocking, and the switch cable does move just a little. How can I get this door open? The dash prevents the forward part of the door panel from coming completely off.
If it’s making noise it definitely sounds like you have a bad actuator.. your going to need to take all the screws off of the door panel with the door closed if it will not open and peel it back far enough to reach inside. When you look at the new actuator you’ll see a lever you can move to open the door from inside the door panel on the actuator itself
Hi @r4nier Please check the first question on the homepage.
You might have to replace the actuator. Check that and see if it needs to be replaced. Check the power lock solenoids as well.
Try manually unlocking the unlock knob/button (not the power lock controler button) while simultaneously opening the door using its open handle/lever/button/ect. from both the inside door handle and outside door handle. You will need to try multiple combinations of jiggles/wiggles and opening attempts. I did this and was able to open a stubborn rear sliding door on my 2006 dodge grand caravan that had a failed door lock actuator solenoid. Also, use a test light to see if you have a good power door lock switch while that door panel off anyway.
