2011 Ford Ranger XL with 140K .. no idea when transmission fluid last changed if ever !

Great simple tuck - crank windows AM /FM radio

The thing shifts fine after driving for about 5 minutes. The fluid is filthy. Little overfilled.. I did get some fluid out through the dipstick. Advise on using old fluid or correct new fluid after changing filter. Add "no slip" additive Now ?

Love the channel it's a daily view for me ..

I would drop the pan, save the fluid in it, Change the filter, clean the pan and put it back on. Add bottle/quart of Lucas Trans stabilizer or equivalent product. Then strain/filter the fluid you saved and put it back in minus one quart because of the Lucas you put in.

I would not use all new fluid at that mileage if it has never been changed.

@Thumpy is correct. Save your old fluid, give the pan a good cleaning, filter your old fluid and put it back in along with a bottle of Lucas. Really that's the best you can do at this point.

Do a normal fluid + filter replacement. (Save old fluid in case there's an issue).

No additives.
