Hey Scotty,

I see private seller listing  for a 2011 Toyota Camry SE with 72086 miles and selling for $5800. What's your thoughts from the price, mileage, is it good buy down to the common issues in this generation? I currently have a 2010 Base Toyota Camry and it's a oil burner with over 210k miles. Do you think its crazy for me to try and buy a 2011 SE model if I kinda already have the same car but the base model version?

The price is good, but what's wrong with the old one except for the oil burning? If I were you I would drive the old one into the ground and then buy a car. You won't get anything if you sell it. 2010 and 2011 had the same engine the oil burning starts early on (between 50-60k miles) so whats the point?

That generation also wasn't the best quality out of Toyota the interiors tend to crack and they had torque converter problems you already have one that you know the maintenance of so I personally would keep what you've got.

If you do consider buying the 2011, have a mechanic check it out to make sure its in good shape. Also, your base model has a more comfortable floaty ride while the SE is a bit firm so test drive it and see if you like it, if you even decide to consider it.

My 10' camry has other minor issues. But I burn 4 qts of oil every 2k miles. Aside from that the car rides good and the motor runs like a sewing machine.

If you want to change up, change up. Nobody can say it was right or wrong.except you.
