2012 accord 2.4L. misfire codes for cylinder 1,2 and 3, crankshaft code. Checked spark plugs, they are OK, swapped one ignition coil did not notice a difference. The car has 223,000 miles, Had the pistons and rings replaced about 14,000 ago. What can cause the misfires?
It might just be your engine is flat worn out. You want to do a compression test wet and dry and if the wet is the same or really close(ideally the wet is more because the oil displaces the piston height slightly in a well running engine)whoever put the piston rings in didn't gap them far enough. If 1 2 and 3 are all much lower than 4 you'll need a new engine or to get yours rebuilt and personally if you want to save the car I would get one of those JDM specials off Ebay their certified used engines and the nice part about buying stuff on Ebay is they offer money back on anything if it doesn't work or isn't as advertised. Thanks, I swapped out all the coils x 4 (get them online for about $ 34 each). Been running the car for a week and no issues. Again, Thanks for the info.
