I have a 2012 GMC Terrain that has about 65K miles. The backup camera works sometimes, but not others. When it is "not working", the screen is very faint and fuzzy, but you can still see that the screen is lit (not totally off), just no backup camera picture. Occasionally it will come back on and work normal. I don't think it is screen itself because it displays the infotainment info fine otherwise. I can probably fix it myself if I knew where to begin looking for the short...or do you think it is the camera itself?

Check all the wiring for any loose connections or damaged wires. Sounds like an electrical issue more than your camera or display failing.
