Hi Scotty:
I absolutely love your channel and never miss a video! i have a 12 Accord 2.4 5 spd auto trans with 156k miles. Very occasionally, after I shut it off from driving, I have no power to anything...door locks, courtesy lights, nothing. The first time it did this, power returned when I reinserted the key. the second time it happened, reinserting the key did nothing but closing the hood (after checking battery cables and ground) I had power. Ignition switch has been replaced. At first I thought it might be a ground issue, but wouldnt it happen all the time if that was the case? Brand new battery...replaced a month ago. Thoughts?
Again, I so appreciate you!
Craig
If you have a second key, try that.
The main give away here is that the power came on after slamming your hood. There is loose wiring somewhere, probably at the battery and grounding conductors to the frame/engine.
1) Make sure the batteries in the keys are good.
2) Make sure the wires connecting to the battery are nice and tight. If they are loose, it could cause everything to go out.
Load test your battery, if it's alright - go to a car electrician...
Oh! Ok. You are thinking the key I have used would make the power go off to the whole car when I shut of the engine? Can you help me understand how that could be? I love learning from you!
Thanks
Craig

Based on what you said, I suggested to try the 2nd key. You already replaced the ignition switch and I assume the new one should not have issues. Also, you have nothing to loose just to try the 2nd key. Do you?
Thank you all so much! I'm totally grateful!
