[Solved] 2012 Juke losing acceleration on the highway

I have a 2012 Nissan Juke SLAWD with 116k miles.

I was driving on the highway and after about 2 hours, the acceleration would give out. I could floor it, and it would not accelerate. After about a minute, I could drive normally again.

The same thing happened a few weeks later. I was driving on a hot day and about 2 hours into my trip on the highway, I would lose acceleration for about a minute. Happned three times. I had driven the car a week earlier on the same stretch of highway for 3 hours in the early morning before sunrise in cooler temps with no problems.

The temperature guage showed normal temps, and the engine made no funny noises.

What could be the problem?

There could be any number of potential causes. You could have a loose battery terminal. Your fuel pump may be starting to die. Your fuel injectors could be clogging up. You could have a sensor starting to give out when it gets hot. Your CVT could be going bad on you.

You might want to scan for codes and record live data while the problem happens to look for clues.
