I have this 2012 Optima Hybrid and recently diagnosed the ABS module to be faulty so to replace it i want to slap in one from a same year Hyundai Sonata that i have for parts. Would this work or would i have to reprogram the HECU to the vehicle?

At least you have to bleed the ABS system with a scan tool after installation. So if you don't have a proper scan tool, it is a good idea to have a mechanic do it for you.

Is the part number the same as your broken ABS module?
Even then, it’ll have to be reprogrammed with fancy tools, all best left to a dealer or specialist Kia independent shop.
