Clarification: How many years and miles do you need it to last you?
Been looking at them with around 70,000 miles. To answer your question as long as possible.
They are basically a 3rd generation Prius under the hood. Excellent cars overall. Just make sure to clean the EGR. Use the right oil. And make sure your coolant is good. And use top tier gas.
There were some head gasket issues, and it is speculated it is due to a dirty EGR causing too much heat. FWIW, just with the folks I know (5 car sample size) that have the Gen 3 Prius since new, all are in good shape to this day. I’ve only read about the head gasket issues on the Internet, so it might not be that widespread.
If you get more towards 2014, the likelihood of head gasket failure is far less.
