Scotty,
My Great Uncle died recently and he left his 2012 Lexus RX350 to me. When I received it, the vehicle had no maintenance history. It has 88 thousand miles on it, and it appears to be in good condition. I am concerned about the automatic transmission fluid. I have driven it very briefly, and the reverse gear works and it shifts very smoothly and quickly. My question is what can i expect in terms of longevity and durability if this is the first time it has been changed? Also, will I ever get into the sixth gear of this automatic transmission during normal highway driving?

I assume this is non-hybrid and non F-sport. If so, it has the true and tried 6-speed transmission U660E also used in the Toyota Camry back then. If you maintain it and don’t drive like a maniac it should last a long time. I would just drain and fill soon, and then stay on top of your ATF service intervals from now on. Scotty likes to say every 30,000-40,000 miles but you can do every 50,000 as well.
