Hi:
My girlfriend's 2012 Mazda 3 has a Skyactiv 6-speed automatic transmission (I think it's one of the good ones). She thought something was weird with it and had me drive it last week. The strange thing it did was to apparently downshift repeatedly when I let off the accelerator pedal entering an off-ramp when driving at about 45 mph. The tach showed increased revs, indicating it was downshifting even though I didn't touch the gear selector lever or the brake pedal.
Is this normal?

Well it shouldn't downshift like that I take it and have it check
