Hi! I have a 2012 Nissan Rogue with 128,000 miles and I've driven with no problems for 7.5 years. I noticed maybe 2 years ago it sometimes revs up to 3 RPM when going downhill even if I'm coasting and no accelerating. Yes, I've had my transmission serviced 2 to 3 times since owning it. Is this something to worry about? I know the CVT transmissions have a bad rap. Thank you.
I would. The CVT on those cars is not good and despite the fact you serviced it, it might still have some issues. If you can, consider selling it.
Does this sound like a transmission problem to you?
Either the transmission or a faulty speed sensor.
bad rap
It's not just bad reputation, it is genuine CRAP longevity.
Some owners, those who drive them in a manner appropriate for a CVT, can make them last - sometimes even over 150k.

Unless you sell the car, service every 20k-30k miles.
When replacing look how metallic / dark the oil you drain is - if it's, replace much more frequently.
128k miles and you have serviced the cvt 2-3 times.
so, that’s either about every 60k miles or every 40k miles.
at what interval does the owner’s manual advise you to service it?
I have a cvt on a Toyota corolla. when cruise control is on the rpms will jump higher to keep the speed consistent while going down the hill. My car has done this from day one. I think you car is programed the sameway . If so there is no problem.
