So I have a 2012 Nissan Versa sv model with 98000 miles purchased the car almost a year ago with no problems up to now. I’m sure most of you already know where I’m going with this yes I’m having issues with the cvt transmission. A few weeks ago it started losing power while accelerating, to me it felt and seemed like a common misfire so my first thought was I need new spark plugs. So I changed all four and still no difference same problem. So a week goes by I’m driving and out of nowhere the car goes into limp mode I lose almost all power and car won’t come out of second gear. Finally I get a check engine light now so I limp my way to o Reilly’s and check the code to which it gives me P-0746 pressure control solenoid “A” stuck in off. So I drop the oil pan take apart the valve body and replace all solenoids as well as the transmission oil to which I use the specified Nissan transmission oil. Now the car is drivable check engine light gone but when it switches from second to third it feels almost like it’s slipping just briefly but enough to notice. I have looked at just about everything online on this vehicle and I am out of ideas someone please shed some light on what I should do next or if I should just give up on this transmission and cut my losses.
also when I changed old oil out of transmission there was no metal shavings nothing the oil was actually really clean. But I did notice original oil was red and the stuff I put in was clear? But I know for sure I put in what it calls for so i am out of ideas please help!
