I have a 2012 Toyota Prius it starts and runs, but will not go into drive or reverse. Only shifts into Neutral. I have replaced the Auxiliary Battery and the Brake Stop Switch. Still having issue, will not go into Drive or Reverse. System notification says to "Check Hybrid System".
I tried to erase the notification, but it will not let me.
No codes come up in the OBD, only check Hybrid System.
I can't figure out what it is.
Can you help????? Or point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Dave
Check your 12V battery it might be Toyota's classic "Start-ability" code
If it's not the battery and it won't budge even when you're trying to jump start it - You need a proper scan tool to check what's the issue it has found.
But be ready to junk the thing - if any Hybrid DriveTrain component has failed, It's probably not worth repairing.
Have you seen this?

You might tow it to a shop that works on Prius for diagnose.
