I have a 2012 Rav4 base model with 166,000 miles. Runs perfect until two days ago. I started it up and the sound of the motor was much louder (like a low pitch whine) and it seems to have a problem finding the right idle. It is idling a little higher RPMs and when it kicks down to where it normally would go then it can’t stay there. Runs fine at driving speed. No codes. No warning lights. Thank you for any help.
You might try cleaning the throttle body and MAF sensor to see if that helps.
