I know that subarus are not as reliabke as other japanese brands like toyota ans honda, but I really want something awd or rwd that is manual and reliable. I know that the 2.5 L subaru engines have a lot of problems, but is the 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i sport a reliable engine amd car? I would be getting a manual, subarus have terrible automatics. If I get one with under 150k miles woukd it be a reliable daily driver? Are there any big problems with the motor or car?

That engine has a tendency to burn oil. Have you considered Lexus GS as a RWD car?

I want something manual, i have tried looking for is300 or is250 but they are all eirher automatic, 200k miles, or too expensive

And is oil burning the only problem? Does it have head gasket or ringland failure issues?

The newer 4 cylinder does not have headgasket issues. Have you considered Toyota 86?

I would get an frs or brz but i domt have that much money, and i dont want to take out a loan for one.

The 2012 Subaru Forester (and that generation in general) had excessive oil consumption issues, unintended acceleration, leaky head gasket, and numerous recalls  related to the Takata airbags.  That generation (2009-2013) had up to 9 airbag recalls, and you’d want those addressed before you buy (not something to mess around with, esp. with possibility of shrapnel being hurled when airbag inflated).  I would personally pass on it.
