Hello
I asked Scotty Kilmer about high rpms after shifting and stepping on the gas on a 2012 Toyota Tacoma manual transmission. I cleaned the throttle body and replaced the spark plugs it was at 90k miles it needed new ones. The problem has lessened however it is still there no check engine light on, unfortunately i have no scan tool that can read and get live engine data that could help me diagnose it.
I would appreciate the help on this
Thank you

A scan tool is pretty much a requirement for doing any diagnosis on a modern vehicle. Even cheap scan tools these days can do basics like pull and clear codes and record live data. See the FAQ for details. Failing that most auto parts stores will at least read codes for free.
If the rpm goes up after shifting and the vehicle doesn't speed up accordingly, your clutch is slipping and needs replacement. First, though, check the clutch master cylinder fluid level and the clutch push rod on the pedal for proper adjustment to make sure the clutch is fully engaging when the pedal is released.
