Scotty,
I own a 2012 VW Tiguan with 104K miles on it. About two weeks ago, on a particularly hot and windy New Mexico day, I got in my car to start it, and noticed it smelled strongly of gas. I rolled down my windows and the car started fine. Fast forward to late last week, and that afternoon as I was leaving work, it wouldn't start. It turned over just fine. But no ignition. It took me about 4 times and the car finally started and then ran fine. I thought possibly bad gas. So I put some injector cleaner in it and filled the tank up with premium. Upon filling it up (not overfilling, just filling) I noticed the strong gas smell again. However, it starts fine once it's been running. It seems like the more time that has gone by since starting, the more difficult it is to start. Also, no gas smell in the cabin once it isn't a full tank. What do you think??
Your channel is awesome, and you're doing people in a tough economy a real service by doing what you do. Thanks so much, and *Stay Free*!!!

Please specify your engine displacement and check for fuel in the oil.
I would have the EVAP and fuel system diagnosed
