This is an automatic transmission. I hear no noise in park or sitting still, but as soon as I accelerate the transmission makes a whirring noise. This just started. Once it shifts up to the 2nd and above the noise is gone. I did a test by starting out in 2nd and there is no whirring noise. But if i put it in 1, the noise is there again. I don't have the noise in reverse. This is a rebuilt transmission replaced in the last 3 years. I checked the transmission fluid and it's still nice and redish, no burnt smell either. Any ideas? Thank you.
Additional comment: The transmission also doesn't appear to have an issue shifting.
Well sad but probably true. The guy didn't rebuild the tranny all that well and it's got noise off of noises like that or bearing or seal noises. I'd really good luck draining out one quart of fluid and putting one quart of Lucas tranny at it to then a lot of times it'll get rid of noises
