Hello Scotty,

2013 Honda Civic LX 1.8  140,000 with a PO128 code.  (Thermostat)

I cleared the code with Blue Driver, but I'm sure it will return.

Do you recommend Genuine OEM when it comes to these components ?  Its about $43

or can you recommend a quality substitute please?

Thanks !

Rock Auto - Stant #13879 - $4.71.

Thank you sir!
Is Stant Good quality? Why is Honda OEM $37 more?

Stant is as good quality as any. The Honda thermostat costs that much because it says Honda on it.

Honda may be wanting to sell you the thermostat AND the housing, but if yours is ok, just re-use it with a new gasket.  If you really want to spend big, AutoZone has a Duralast 3 year warranty thermostat #1518DLG for $19.99 that is OE recommended temp. - 180 degree fahrenheit.
