I have a 2013 Nissan Maxima that uses the keyless entry. We have the fab and extra batteries in the car, but the fob entry point when the battery goes out has been damaged so we would need to use the key if the fab didn't work.   I have looked for help on where to in the car I can insert the *key* located in the fab and it just say to contact the factory.  My son is now driving this vehicle and want him to know his option if the battery or fab does not work.

Help please 🙂

You probably could have figured this out by actually reading your owner's manual.

That car should have a slot that the whole I key will fit into to the left of the steering wheel that’ll start the car even if the key battery is dead and there is a key cylinder in the drivers door of the car if your locked out?

I tried that on my 2012 maxima and almost got my key lost. That is for the actual fob. Go figure. I googled the heck out of it. I said if I don’t have my fob I can’t start my car?!?! Dealership said….yep. Scuse me? Someone suggested praying the start button loss and there’s a key insert in there so I’m gonna Google how to do that without ruining my start button

Well your pry the button part out and the key hole is inside

You kidding me? Wth. When I list my fob I called the dealership. I have a 2012 maxima. They said I cannot use the key to start it. They said the key was for the door only. And that slot to the left is for the fob! Idk if the same goes for my year car but I’m gonna be mad and relieved if there is. Just carefully pry it off eh? I don’t want to ruin the button part. I told the dealership what a stupid way to have a car rigged up that you can only start it with a fob it just didn’t make sense to me. Bunch of liars Ty
