My dads 2013 Sienna makes a super loud squealing sound with its brakes ONLY when he’s backing up. It’s so loud that you can hear it from a block away. My friends mom has a 2014 Sienna with the same issue. We’ve taken it multiple shops and Toyota dealer who have done the usual brake maintenance but it still hasn’t been fixed. Dont know what to do.

If they are Factory OEM pads from Toyota then it could be the emergency brake. If they are aftermarket pads, then that could be the issue. I had a volvo that did that with aftermarket pads. Switched to volvo OEM pads and no more squeek.
