Thinking about getting an LS v8 and ripping out the v6. Is it a good idea and what am I looking at for all the work? And would the transmission have to be switched out for performance transmission? Ty

Yeah I really don't think that's such a great idea don't they reinforce the body of the car to stand up to all that power a v8 puts out? Not to mention matching wiring looms maybe find a v8 with higher miles cheep the swap engine and put performance transmission in it sell the v6 to get the cash to do it?
@DayWalker Thanks for the tag! You guys really help make it easy for me to find these threads when you do that and I try to answer them ASAP. So definitely appreciate that.
OP, you don't want to swap a V8 into a V6. You would have to swap computer modules, fuel systems, rear ends, and a lot more. @LostxForerunner was also bringing up good points as the V6 cars are not set up for V8 torque. You'd need to reinforce the frame, etc. etc.
In the long run, you would be MUCH better off just buying a Camaro with the V8 already in it. It would save you a lot of money and be way more reliable than a car you wired up yourself. No offense, but if you have never wired a car before, swapping a V6 to a V8 anything is not a good plan.
