What's good everyone hope you all are doin well. What's the normal operating transmission temperature for the 2014-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee? My sisters friend has a 2018 and I own a 2014 as a backup vehicle. Her friend doesn't seem to believe me when I tell her what the normal range is as she at times pays attention to the transmission temp gauge am I right that the normal range is 199-220 degrees and if it goes over 220 its overheating? Cause see the 2014 we have the max temp its ever gotten to during the summer was 205 and under so I mean... am I right or nah? She tends to freak out when the temp goes over 200

It's not just about temps. Fluid degradation is a function of temperature AND TIME.

You should see around 200 and below under normal driving conditions.

You may see it climb to 220 under extreme conditions (steep hill climbing, towing, etc.). It's not the end of the world for short intervals, but you don't want your transmission this hot for extended periods of time. If you push the vehicle hard and see this often, then you should install additional cooling. If you get into these temps under normal driving, then something isn't working right.

oof. Thanks ill let her know and ill take note of that
