2014 Escape SE .. wrong coolant?

Watched one of your videos talking about coolant..

Bought my used 2014 Escape 1.6l SE and it had about 1/3 of a "tank" of green coolant. There is no evidence of a leak but I'm wondering if the idiots that sold it put in green as everything I've seen mentions orange should be used. It was imported from Canada.. do they use different colored coolants?

Is this a serious issue? Serious or not, should it be drained and replaced or whats the best thing to do? The mechanic had topped it up with distilled water and I'm not having overheating issues.. (note that I do live in Ghana, a tropical country.. in case that makes a difference.)

Since we're on the topic.. two more little things I'd like feedback on..

1. Today I noticed a sound that seemed to come from the mid-right of the car when going over speed bumps (3/4 small ones close together). After passing over it sounded like something was almost loose .. anything I should specifically ask the mechanic to look for or he should just check everything..

2. You'd mentioned in one of your videos that Ford transmissions tend to do this but I would just like verification.. the change from 1/2 gear can be a little .. rough/slow, but 3rd gear and higher it transitions fine and I notice no issues. If I take the first gears slow it seems OK, its when I do an acceleration from stop/1st that it seems to happen. There is no dipstick on this model to check the fluid but I'm thinking I might have the mechanic take a look and see if it needs a drain/replace.. thoughts?

Much appreciated!

I would flush the system and use a correct fluid to avoid long-term issues.

Regarding your questions:

1. Check the suspensions.

2. It depends on the mileage and conditions of the ATF. Check the FAQ for more information.

Thanks!
