Hey Scotty, I just purchased a used Ford F150 2014 5.0 6 speed 4x4 with 205,000 miles. The only code that came up was P184a-00 (transfer case unable to transition between 4x2 and 4x4 mode). It drives fine and I was able to shift 4x4 without a problem. The only thing that the previous owner have done was change the motor oil on a regular basis. So I went ahead and changed the spark plugs and coils, differential fluids, transmission fluid, transfer case fluid and ac/serpentine belts. How long should I expect the engine and transmission to run before I need to replace them or sell it. Thanks
Nobody can really tell how long it will last. If you drive on the highway all the time, you will accrue less wear and tear than the same distance during city driving. I would say it's probably close to the latter stage of its life, especially if you changed the transmission fluid once.
