my 2014 pilot touring, 198,000 km, sat for 4 days and when i tried to start it, the car was totally dead, no nothing.

when i boosted it, the horn honked and honked, so i quickly jump in car and the car started with no problem, but horn kept honking. tried panic button, tired boosting with doors locked, but as soon as i put cables on the battery the horn keeps honking. never happened to me before. but i just had timing belt changed and had radio restarted a week before. Oh yeah, when i take the boosting cables off, battery seems totally dead again, no dash lights, buzzers, dingers, nothing.

Any takers?

Thanks in advance

Neil

Assuming you’re still on the original battery, it’s time for a new one.

Depending on if the immobiliser settings are messed up, you may need to find a guy like Scotty with a fancy scan tool or the dealer to reset/reprogram your immobiliser/alarm.

But load test your battery & alternator first.

Ok figured out to stop alarm. after i put booster on, horn started to honk, so i quickly put key in door lock and the car stopped honking. so the boosted my car and ran it for an hour. my battery tester said charge/good battery. i started it again two days later no problem. just tryed starting it again 24 hrs later not dash lights door locks nothing. thinking bad battery or a current draw. i never had a problem before, but since i changed the timing belt and water pump last week, this problem starts up, would that have anything to do with it????
