Hello all, I seem to have a issue with my paint. I have a 2014 Rav4 Limited AWD in Blizzard White 107K. When to was the car this past weekend and noticed on the roof the paint was pealing up in a big chunk! So on Monday i contacted Toyota Corporate, they acknowledged there is a issue with the that color paint. They also informed me that ontop of the main warranty there is a special warranty for the paint 10 years from date of registration. So basically it being 4/25 I missed it by several months. They basically told me to go Swing!!! Contacted my local dealer Scott Clark Toyota and spoke with a service manager named Justin and he told me to go Swing and they did not take care of that at there particular location and informed me to call Town and Country Toyota in Charlotte, which i did Spoke with the Body shop there and basically im on my own. Is there type of recourse anyone can provide me? The roof paint since Sunday 27-Apr-2025 has really started to come apart. I figure by the end of the week there will be no paint on the roof!! Any and all help/information will really greatly be appreciated!! Scotty Kilmer PLEASE HELP
If any wants pictures to see, i will be more than happy to provide.
Thank You !!!
You have no legal recourse since you are well beyond the extended warranty deadline. However if you are persistent you may be able to get Toyota Corporate to pay part of it, like maybe 50%.
@chucktobias Thank you for such a quick response. Toyota Corp. customer service does not listen, its like they are reading from a book! Is there a different dept i should ask for when calling there 800# which i guess is there basic customer service people. On the internet, I have read that there is some type of class action law suit regarding this issue. I dont know but trying to figure this out and will give them a call tomorro w
You could try writing a letter to the head office and see if that gets any results. Calling their regular customer service on the phone is probably not going to get you much but you could try to ask each person you talk to for their supervisor until you can't go any higher.
white paint has been a prob for all manus. And they know EXACTLY how long it lasts. It's no coincidence that you just missed it.
