Hi Scotty, I have to choose between the two crvs 2014 ( top of the line -44,000 miles on it- 5 speed automatic) and the newer 2015 ( base model - 79,000 miles- CVT-transmission). My heart tells me to go for the 2014.. I’m not a big fan of CVT transmission. Is that the way to go? Thank you

Go with the 2014.

Lower miles and no CVT makes the 2014 a no-brainer.

Thanks, I got the 2014 already

Regarding that generation, I had previously recommended to other members to stick to pre-2015 (so 2014 model year) since it had the conventional automatic transmission.   That one also has lower mileage (and may pay more) but it’s a safer bet.  Make sure to have an independent, honest mechanic like a Scotty thoroughly look over and test the vehicle with his fancy scan tool and give his OK before buying the vehicle.

I drive a 2015 CRV with CVT regularly. It’s not bad. But I’d much prefer the feel and responsiveness of an automatic. And obviously I prefer manual if at all possible.
