I bought a 2015 chevy silverado 1500 that has 68000 miles on it and was wondering if I should have the tranny fluid changed? I don't know the service history on it and i am worried if I change it the tranny will start slipping.

You're almost at the perfect mileage to do it. It is recommended at 60k miles. I would do a drain and fill. As long as you don't flush it, you'll be fine.

how does it look?
If it brown or smells burnt, then you should change it.
Go to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and read the transmission page there.

As long as it’s before 80 or 90k miles you should be good
I never changed mine and mine has 135.5k miles now still nothing wrong
