Hey Scotty, longtime time fan!
I have a 2015 f150 Lariat Coyote motor that was my father's, he passed in June and i inherented his truck , its mint condition except the computer that controls the screen between the tach and speedo (maybe its the ICB ?) went last year, the dealer sold him a used one and iinstalled it for $2000 but forgot to advise him it come with whatever milage is in that computer which in our case is 66,000 km higher then what his actually has, truck has just over 100k km which now reads 168000 km... can i do anything to fix it, ford canada of course wont do squat as it outside the warranty, i complained to the dealer and Ford Camada and never even got a call back from the dealer - SAVAGE FORD NEVER have service done there!

Sorry for your loss. I believe They cannot roll back the mileage at the dealership, it’s to protect you from buying a car displaying lower than actual mileage.
Even with the full lariat style screen those are all over eBay for less than $500 and a factory reman programmed for your vehicle is less than $1000. That’s doesn’t seem like a $2000 job. You Can remove and replace that unit with basic tools in less than 20 minutes and programming the VIN and as built data to activate all the features your truck has doesn’t take that long either. That being said they may have done other work, that just seems high for a user cluster swap.
Thanks Mike for the feedback, dealership told us for $4k ( can $) they could install the new one with the proper actual milage, does that make any sense? Thanks again - Mark
It’s not worth it even if it is a “fair” price. The displayed mileage means nothing unless you’re selling it and you can fill out an odometer discrepancy disclosure anyway.
look up the cost of a new cluster based in your VIN. That will give you an idea of the parts cost.
