Hi Scotty,

Huge fan over here, What do you think would be the best choice between 2015 Honda Fit Hybrid VS 2015 Toyota Aqua Hybrid? I know that hybrids can be expensive when it comes to repairs, but due to the traffic that I have to face daily on my commute to work and having to travel to the hill country about 300 miles bi-weekly leaves me no choice. what do you think?

Hybrid

I usually recommend Toyota Hybrids over any other hybrid, even Honda. Toyota has 20 years of time tested hybrid technology. Prius technology has made it across their entire fleet.

However Honda has a compelling new hybrid technology.  It is their third attempt at creating a hybrid system, and it is significantly different than their Honda predecessors, and even Toyota. Honda predecessors weren’t necessarily bad in terms of quality. They just weren’t as popular as Toyota’s technology.

Current generation Honda Hybrids are basically an EV but get its power from gasoline. Very fascinating. If it is was any other company I probably wouldn’t give it a second look, but it is Honda, a company known for quality and longevity.

In contrast, Toyota Hybrids usually split the duty of propelling the vehicle between the ICE and the electric motor.

If you want tried and true, go with a Toyota Hybrid.

If you are willing to take a chance, go with the Honda Hybrid. Heck, drive them both and see what you like better.

Although I don't have any expertise with those two models, Toyota seems to have a better system than  Honda.

My daughter has a Fit (non-hybrid) and I am continually amazed by how much space it has. Yes, Toyota is the leader in hybrids, but Honda is no slouch, so based on the comparison of the cars themselves I would go with the Fit.
