My brother is looking at a 2015 jeep patriot. Are these good? Bad? What are the pros and cons? What about the automatic transmission? Any recalls?

That has to be one of the worst possible vehicle choices around.

Quite horrible. Customer reviews show engine issues, transmission issues, electrical issues, quality issues overall like leaking in the roof like crazy.
Pros- it will likely destroy itself before the warranty is up, just better hope everything that goes wrong is actually under warranty.
You were wise to ask ahead of time.
