- 2015 Sienna LE FWD 35k mil vs 2017 Sienna LE FWD 55k mil for the same price, which one to buy? 2017 got 8 gears, direct fuel injection, more torque and Hp. I read that there was a problem with automatic transmision in 2017 models, so I wonder what would you do Scotty?
I would choose the 2015 Sienna from a longevity point of view, although both are still good, but the 2015 has 2 fewer gears in their transmission (6 vs 8) and also does not have the additional port+direct injection that the 2017 MY offered (but at least for 2017 MY it’s not direct injection-only and still uses port injection so not susceptible to carbon buildup, unlike their competitors).
I would get the 2015, just haggle on the price a bit and get a pre-purchase inspection done by a trusted mechanic.
I too would go 2015 but of course I would buy a Toyota instead
Instead of what? Isn't the Sienna made by Toyota? I don't understand your answer. {pear}
Lol @mountainmanjoe
If your mechanic approves both, I would choose the 2015 because of the proven 6 speed automatic transmission.
Probably the 2015, you don't need the more power in a family hauler especially considering the weak 8 speeds in them. In 10 years from now, it is still going to be a minivan, but you will probably be on your second transmission choosing the 2017 model.
you're a bit late 🙂
Oh, man. This was at the top of the list.
