I have a 2015 tacoma trd pro 67k miles. Made in texas. So far i had to have a front end alignment a new a/c pump and the abs system replaced. I bought this with the idea it was going to be great. And so far it has not. Is there anything else i should be concerned about? Were these things just a fluke or is there something about this year and trim model i should know? Thanks.
I understand changing the AC compressor and doing the alignment. I wonder about the ABS. Do you mean the ABS module by ABS system? If so, what happened that you decided to change it?
I took it in to be fixed as i dont personally know much about the abs system im used to old non abs system. However the light came on the dash and i was unable to shift from park.
I doubt that the ABS does that. Anyway, you already got it replaced, if there is nothing serious wrong with it now, it should last you a long time.
Realize no automaker is perfect including Toyota. That being said it is a 2015 model year which is the last year of the second generation Tacoma, so bugs should have been ironed out. (3rd Gen started with model year 2016). I would say it was a fluke, and it’s quite possible you may not have any more issues for a long time after this - we’ll see, but I still think it was worth the gamble (no guarantees in life, right?) on this brand and truck than the competitors.
Well i sure hope so. This truck has been pretty great over all but i just didnt expect to have anything besides the alignment with only 65k miles. I plan to change the trans fluid in the near future.
I recommend to change transmission fluid every 40,000 miles and engine oil every 5,000 miles.
Interesting! I have a 2015 Tacoma Quad cab/V6 auto I bought new. Have 113k trouble free miles. Was the truck possibly in a flood? Did you check history on it if you bought used?
Bought it new never in a flood or accidents.
