Hi Scotty! Recently bought my 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TSI from a nearby dealership. However, I took it to German Auto Center here in Austin to get an inspection and they said my timing chain was loose! The car is currently at 80k miles and they quoted me $1,800 to replace the chain! What should I do?

1. Did they give you proof of their claim?
2. Can you hear metallic rattling noises from your engine?
3. If the answer to both 1 & 2 is yes, do you have any warranty/refund option from the dealer who sold this vehicle to you?
4. If 3 isn’t possible, take it to another ‘reputed/honest’ independent mechanic and get a second opinion.
