Hi Scotty!! We love your channel. My husband has a 2016 RC 350 AWD F sport and I have 2017 RX 350 F Sport. We bought them used and didn't realize until afterward that because the Enform was 3G it is now obsolete as far as connecting to the system. Evidently if this had never been engaged the car starter would work with the key fob but because the Enform had been used at one time the starter won't work with the fob. Is there a way to over ride that and get the key fob to work again?
Is there any information in your owner's manual that would help?
@chucktobias unfortunately this is a known issue and I can't find anything online. Thought Scotty would know the answer since he is a Lexus guy.
Scotty might know but he's not able to answer every question here. He picks a few each day to answer in the forum and also answers some in his videos. Contact information is in the site FAQ if you want to try asking him directly. (It's also possible a Lexus dealer could take care of the problem but that would likely cost $$$$.)
@chucktobias thanks. Just to make sure I understand..it's OK to email his Gmail about this question As far as the dealer goes...they don't have a fix either. I could just buy an OEM add-on remote start but wanted to find out if he might have run into this before and has a fix. I'll wait to hear from you about using the Gmail Thanks!!
You can certainly write him via gmail, he's always inviting people to do so. Put something catchy in the email title since he gets a lot of spam. There's no guarantee of an answer due to the very high volume of mail Scotty receives but it's worth a shot.
It's hard to believe what a brain-dead "feature" that is. It implies that even when 3G was still available if you found yourself in an area with no service you would be unable to start the vehicle. That is truly bizarre.
