Oil pan leakage

2016 BMW X5 50i with 77k miles

Recently started to notice very small amount of oil on garage floor. Mechanics said upper and lower oil pan are leaking. About 18-20 hours of labor. SUV is in great condition and low miles. Heard this is not unusual with BMW.  What are your thoughts about repairing and is this really 18+ hours of labor? Vehicle is not burning oil between oil changes. Not yet at least. Thanks!

It's definitely a big job that's labor intensive. This video shows what's involved with replacing the upper oil gasket on a different engine but the process is quite similar. You'll see why they want 18+ hrs labor, it took this guy 17 hrs > BMW Oil Gaskets

It's common : https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1735444
