Hey scotty!
My mom's friend wants to buy a 2016 GMC 2500 should she buy it?
I like fords I am trying to convince her to buy a ford dually or f350,because she is 65 and she is about to retire so I dont want her to be having trouble with this truck when she is retired.
I would stick with non-diesel trucks; as they age they can cost a fortune to repair with all the complicated systems. Plus you have to take to a competent specialist diesel mechanic who really knows how to work on them and that will cost you; it’s not so DIY-friendly. Diesels are only good to own if the vehicle makes money for you.
You can get Ford F-250 and GMC 2500 with gas engine versions, and between those two go with the Ford F-250 with the true and tried 6.2L V8 with 6-speed AT. For longevity, be sure to go light on the options which equates to fewer things breaking. When it comes to electronics, I trust the Ford over the GMC.
Yea I chose ford trucks over any I just needed some more info thanks!
Eh depends, is he or she using it as a truck? Honestly if it got a clean bill of health it could be decent. If it has a lot of bells and whistles I’d pass. Also depends on what motor. If it’s only going to get used as a get around truck that tows a boat occasionally I’d avoid it. If that thing is going right to work like it’s supposed to, like I said could be a decent pick. Also depends on price.
