Hi Scotty. I have a 2016 GMC Yukon Denali V8 automatic transmission with 78,000 miles which uses oil. There is no blue smoke coming out of the tailpipe. No smoke coming out of the engine compartment while stopped at a light or stop sign. I do not smell smoke in the cab. There are no oil spots under the car in the driveway. Under the vehicle, there are no signs of any oil leak, even with a careful visual inspection on my back with a flashlight. The oil filter, oil pan, and drain plug are tight with no leaks, The only sign of any tiny bit of oil is around the oil filler cap on the driver's side valve cover. But this is likely because of careless input by sloppy owners. I have checked the engine coolant and it appears and smells weird. I have not checked the spark plugs for signs of burning oil. And suggestions for me? I'm tired of sleeping on the couch. Thanks a bunch.....
How much oil usage? Coolant weird smell... can't identify but that's enough info for me to tell you to get the test kit to check it (head gasket check). I doubt this as you'd most likely have other issues but a cheap check and peace of mind. But time for a flush change anyway of coolant if head gasket test ok. I suspect your just burning it. Oh, and go ahead and check/replace pcv.
