I just bought a 2016 pilot with 126k miles on it  it was a  NY car, ran carfax and had local mechanic inspect.  Nothing major came up but it doesn't look like the 100k service was done.  We will get it done this week. Can I expect to get another 100k miles from this car if service right?

Honda's reliability goes back and forth.

If you plan on keeping it for long term- change the oil every 5k miles. The fluid every 30k miles.

Also you didn't mention anything about rust and what part of New York it came from (upstate, NYC/Long island). I say this due to the fact that I grew up in Long Island, NY. I know what happens to cars when it was used for city driving.

For OP’s clarification, fluid change every 30,000 miles = transmission fluid.

Yes it was a typo by accident.

Depends on how the previous owner drove the car. Those engines are very stout just stick to scheduled maintenance and the J series is way over built. I would still run the VIN through Honda for any technical service bulletins or recalls. I worked at a serval Honda dealerships and saw these as brand new cars.

Yes. Body will rust out while powertrain keeps on going.
