Hello Scotty,
I have a 2016 Qx60 that recently at 90k miles, the check engine light came on. I took it to my mechanic and the code came out at P0101. He said if he changes the MAF sensor and it still comes on, that I should be prepared to spend because it will be an ECU problem. He told me this is notorious on the qx60, maranos, rogues and other Nissan vehicles. Help! Is he right? 😭ย
Before jumping to a conclusion, first make sure you do not have vacuum leak and also check the wiring and connection for the MAF sensor. If everything checked out, clean the MAF sensor, clear the code and see what happens. If the code came back, replaced the MAF sensor with OEM, do not use aftermarket one.ย
Thank you, i will try that.
If you could get the ecm part number there may be something simple like an ecm reprogram being all it needs. Otherwise I would use throttle body cleaner on a rag and clean out the throttle body.. excessive carbon in the throttle body can cause that code as wellย
Thank you. So i went back to mechanic today, and now theres a new code P219B.
Went to a different mechanic my friend suggested. He put fuel injector cleaner inside the tank, cleared the codes, told me to run it for a bit and to stop using regular gas (87). He told me to use at least 89. Asked me if I've ever changed my spark plugs and advised me to.
You should never be running 87 in that car in my opinion.. otherwise would still need the ecm part number to see if any updates apply
