Scotty, I have a 2016 Kia Sorento 6 cylinder. From time to time the steering warning light comes on and I lose power steering. If I stop and turn the Sorento off and then restart it, everything goes back to normal.
there are no codes that come up. Any idea of what it could be? I know it has the electric power steering and not one with power steering fluid. I’ve heard it could be a weak battery or weak alternator.
any advice would be helpful. The dealer has been useless.

get the battery+alternator tested. If good then replace the steering unit.
